Christine Hingston

Graduated from Claremont Art College, Perth Western Australia, in 1973 with a diploma in fine art.

Worked and lived in London and Ireland and travelled throughout Europe.

Returned to Australia, moved to the remote West Australian Goldfields prospecting for gold.

Back in Perth in 1985, began hand painting t-shirts, developed over 14 years into a national selling clothing company, "Crissy Resort and Sportswear".

Set up a screen printing company, designing, manufacturing and hand printing children’s clothing label, "Ochre Design Australia".

In 1998 moved to Mundaring in the Perth Hills and bought a 100 year old house with a shed on the property large enough for a studio, began painting full time. Renovated the house and established a garden which has since been open as part of the Australian Open Garden Scheme.

First solo exhibition, "A Room Of My Own" at the Mundaring Art Centre in 1999, since then have had a solo and featured in mixed exhibitions every year.

In 2009 built a contemporary corrugated iron building, the new Red Shed Studio is open by appointment.

Christine’s paintings are included in collections in London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Moscow and Los Angeles and throughout Australia.
